The Project
Brown Field Aluminium Smelter - The project is in its second stage of development, when phase two is complete it will increase total production capacity to 1.5 million tonnes per annum, making the facility the world’s most productive and highest efficient single-site aluminium smelter complex in the world.
Leap29 client will supply the technology and equipment for its Anode Rodding Plant and Hot Bath Removal at the smelter complex.
The Role (Duties &Responsibility)
Development and implementation of design plans to meet project requirements
Progress Reporting
Managing a team
Checking and approval of technical deliverables (eg: surface finishes, tolerances, manufacturability etc..)
Development of basic and detail engineering documentation including calculations for shafts, simple beams etc..
Sizing and selection of bearings, gearboxes, hydraulic, cylinders etc
Safety Reviews and implementation of outcomes (HIRA - Hazard Identification Risk Assessment)
Technical information required for Operation & Maintenance Manuals
Workshop commissioning
*(The role will be based on a 10 hour day, 6 days per week)*
The Requirements
10 + years (Minimum) experience gained within mechanical design of heavy industrial projects and equipment
Mechanical Machine Design experience from concept through to completion and installation.
Experience gained within the Aluminium smelting industry (Preference) Experience gained within the heavy engineering industry (Essential)
A good understanding of manufacturing processes
BSc Qualified – Mechanical engineering
Middle East Experience (Preference) International experience (Essential)
Ability to manage a multicultural team of engineers
Fluency in English (Essential)
Single Status (Preference)

Remuneration: 40 - 42 UK Pounds/hour
