Employment for Accountant in Canada
A small accounting firm based in Calgary is looking for an Accountant with initiative, independence, and a strong work ethic to join their growing operation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-1-4 years of relevant, recent experience, preferably with a CA or CGA firm
-CMA/CGA or CMA/CGA student
-Familiar with Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, CaseWare or CaseView, and TaxPrep
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Extremely organized and focused, able to work independently as well as in a team
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Complete client engagements involving tax planning, financial statement disclosures, etc.
-Assist more senior staff with larger client engagements
-Stay up-to-date on firm policies and procedures
-Prepare budgets for and closely monitor time spent on client engagements. Report significant variances from budget to the responsible staff member or partner
-Ensure successful completion of designation program
-Provide excellent client relations, constantly maintaining professionalism
