Dandruff
is a condition which causes small white flakes of skin to fall from your
scalp.
It is-not painful, but it can be irritating because it makes your scalp itch. Many people
find dandruff embarrassing, because the white flakes settle in an unsightly way on
their collars and clothes. Although we do not know what causes dandruff, we do know
some of its symptoms. People who suffer from dandruff have over-active sebaceous
glands which makes their scalps oily. The scalp therefore holds more bacteria and
fungi than normal. If you have a mild case of dandruff, wash your hair at least twice
a week and massage your scalp thoroughly. This usually gets rid of the problem.
Special shampoos are available to help cure the condition. If your dandruff is so
severe that these home remedies fail to work, you should see a doctor.
