An ambitious Massachusetts teacher and a group of students said they are preparing to
construct
the world's biggest book.
groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School teacher Betsy Sawyer and the Bookmakers and Dreamers Club plan to
surpass
the Guinness record by making a text larger than the current
record-holding 9-foot-wide, 10-foot-high, 557-pound book in Denver, The
Boston Globe reported .
Sawyer said "Pages for Peace" will be 12 feet by 10 feet, possibly weigh in at a hefty 2,000 pounds and cost about $500,000 to print.
It is reported Sawyer and her students have been tackling the challenge of simply finding somewhere to store the giant book.
"This book is happening this year -- I know it,"
Sawyer said. "Someone's got to have the space to build this thing."
Sawyer told the newspaper she thinks the book should
eventually
be taken on a tour to celebrate her students'
determination
for
spreading
peace.
